NEW - ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT)

PLEASE NOTE:

The Residential Tenancies Tribunal and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal have been replaced by the new ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) from the 2 February 2009.

An important new feature of ACAT is that it provides an internal right of appeal against its decisions.  Appeals can be made on questions of fact and/or law. Time limits do apply to appeals. The general rule is that an internal appeal needs to be lodged within 28 days of the original Tribunal decision. A new factsheet on ACAT is currently being developed and will be available shortly.

Please replace any references to the Residential Tenancies Tribunal (RTT) and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) with ACAT when reading these Public Housing Fact Sheets.

Othewise your tenancy rights have NOT changed.
